Akagi-jinja Shrine, located in Kagurazaka, serves as the stage for the festival’s grand opening at its modern Kaguraden Stage. Young performers of Nagauta and Kiyomoto-bushi, two traditional shamisen music styles from the Edo period (1603-1868), will present famous pieces filled with refined charm, accompanied by explanations. In the latter half of the first and second parts, promising young dancers who represent the future of Nihon Buyo traditional dance will take the stage with lively performances.
